Height of your child
Stand in stocking feet, with feet together and back to a wall. Measure from the floor to the top of the head.

Chest size of your child
Measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping the tape up under the arms and around the shoulder blades.

Weight of your child
Weight may be helpful if a child is above or below average weight.

Age of your child
Age isn't nearly as accurate as using the height (since kids all grow at different rates!).
